Critically lauded newcomers Chvrches have admitted that they are desperate to get their first album released. The trio have been working on their first collection for over a year, and will finally make it public on September 23.

They’ve already turned heads with the help of their hits including ‘Recover’ and ‘Gun’.

“We’re really excited because it won’t be looking over us any more,” Iain Cook told Digital Spy at the Reading Festival.

“Once it’s out it will be cool because there won’t be any more anticipation. For us, there’s been a lot of work that’s gone into the record, so we’re very keen to get it out.”

Frontwoman Lauren Mayberry said that the singles are a great teaser of what’s to come.

“I don’t think we could have made a personal choice that three would be radio songs and the rest would be this,” she said.

“It’s been quite a natural thing since we first started the band. We’ve been writing and recording all at once, so I think it’s been a pretty cool process that we’ve been able to do that ourselves. It’s completely what we would have made.”
