He will be sentenced on Friday, May 2.

At Southwark Crown Court, Clifford, 71, was tried on 11 counts of indecent assault against seven women, dating back to between 1966 and 1985. The girls were aged between 14 and 19 at the time.

Clifford was joined by his daughter Louise outside the courtroom and said simply: “I have been told by my lawyers to say nothing at all.”

Before his sentencing, he has been released on conditional bail.

The outcome means he is the first person to be found guilty as part of a prosecution under Operation Yewtree, the Metropolitan Police’s investigation opened following the Jimmy Savile furore.
