The contenders for the BBC Sound Of 2014 prize have been unveiled, showcasing 15 rising stars in the music industry.
All of the artists featured are tipped to go on to big things in the forthcoming year, and the longlist will be whittled down to a Top 5 over the coming weeks. Last year’s winners, Haim, recently scored a No1 album.
The most prolific inclusions on this year’s list are Sam Smith and Ella Eyre, both of whom have already featured on chart-topping singles; the former with Naughty Boy and the latter with Rudimental.
Also included is producer MNEK, who has made hits for artists including Little Mix; Say Lou Lou, who have been attracting heaps of critical acclaim from bloggers; and Jungle, an electro-funk duo who have won a huge fanbase despite not revealing their actual identities.
