Britney Spears has said that she would love to be ‘uninteresting’ to paparazzi so they stop following her.
Now in her 15th year in the business, the superstar is still met wherever she goes by swarms of photographers – and she’s doing everything she can to make sure she persuades them to leave her alone.
“This is the thing,” she told Vegas Player magazine. “I’m actually really shy. I don’t like having my picture taken.
“I don’t like the attention, but it’s something that comes with success. I’ve accepted the paparazzi are going to be there; I just try to wear the same thing every day so I become uninteresting.”
Recalling when she first shot to fame in the late 1990s, she mused:
“It’s important to have a group of people around you who can keep you down to earth. It’s a mind-altering experience when you become a pop star at such a young age.
“Some people are made for it and some people aren’t. If you keep good friends around you and stay grounded, you’ll be OK.”
Spears is gearing up to release her new album Britney Jean on December 8, and she’ll also kick off a 2-year residency in Las Vegas on December 27.
