Lady Gaga will become the first artist to perform in space in 2015, it has been revealed. The singer will perform one song aboard the Virgin Galactic shuttle as part of the Zero G Colony high-tech music festival.
The singer tweeted tonight that she will confirm details of the news at the weekend, and rumours suggest that she has already taken out life insurance in case anything goes wrong.
The performance is apparently slated to take place six months after the first Virgin Galactic flight, which will happen next year. As for the Zero G Colony festival, that’s going to happen in Spaceport America in New Mexico.
Gaga has been hot on the promotional trail this month ahead of the release of her new album, ARTPOP, on November 11. She has also this week been reported to have struck up an unexpected friendship with octogenarian EastEnders star June Brown.
The two hit it off while filming The Graham Norton Show, which airs later this week on BBC One in the UK.
