The career path of the Spice Girls could have been very different, according to Melanie C – as she admits that was almost fired from the band. Sporty Spice, who has carved out a long-running solo career since the girl group disbanded, has revealed that she got into a scrap with Victoria Beckham before they even released their debut single ‘Wannabe’.
The scrap, it turns out, happened ahead of the 1996 Brit Awards.

Melanie told the Daily Star:
“We were at the Brit Awards, sat on a table with Lenny Kravitz and Vanessa Paradis and all these stars, and we all got a bit tipsy. By the end I was really pissed and told Victoria to f**k off. It was so over-dramatised but it really upset her.”
She added:
“The next day I was called in by management and they threatened to kick me out of the group due to my behaviour. I can’t remember why we were even arguing now but I can remember telling her to ‘F’ off’.”
Luckily they seemed to learn to get along!
