The X Factor judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne have said they weren’t keen on the show’s notorious Chair twist at Boot Camp.
The process changed such that acts were dealt out places at the Judges’ Houses phase on a first come first served basis – however, the judges could take someone’s place away from them if they had run out of spots to dish out.
Sharon said on This Morning:
“Oh my goodness, that chair business… we were told the day it was actually happening and we were like, ‘What? I don’t like this’.”
She grew to like its drama, however, saying:
“The atmosphere was electric and it really bought it home what this means to everybody.”
Scherzinger, meanwhile, told Digital Spy:
“Oh my gosh, it was wretched. It was so hardcore. It was brutal.
“It made for great telly, I’m not going to lie. We were there and I was sweating. This was like the lion’s den, we were throwing them out there to the wolves.”
She added:
“But the reality of it is whether you guys see it on TV or not, those are the decisions we have to make. So you just get to see what goes on.”
