Darcey Bussell is unsure if she will return for a third season as judge on Strictly Come Dancing. The professional ballerina joined the line-up as a replacement for Alesha Dixon in 2012, and kept the role for the recent 2013 run – which was won by Abbey Clancy.
However, speaking to Digital Spy at the Sky Arts South Bank Awards, she refused to commit on-the-spot to a third stint.
“I don’t know if I am a permanent fixture,” she said.
Asked how long she’ll be on the show for, she answered:
“I have no idea actually, I just take one day at a time at the moment. I’m not contracted yet. I’m still waiting to hear.”
Darcey does not join Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel-Horwood on the Strictly arena tour, and explained: “I’ve been on tour all my life and I have to say it’s really nice to stay at home and be with my kids.
“When the live show’s on for the three odd months that it’s on, that’s brilliant and it’s very exciting. The guys have been doing it for a long time and I’ll leave them to it.”
