Britney Spears has admitted that it’s easy to give in to the pressure to be sexy in the music industry. The star’s new music video, for next single ‘Work Bitch’, has proven quite the talking point over recent weeks, and sees the iconic popstar whipping backing dancers and dancing in little clothing.

Speaking to The Showbiz 411, she claimed it’s her “job” to portray a raunchier persona than she really is, but added that it feels like “therapy” for her shy personality.

“I think it goes with what I do,” she said. “It’s my job to portray more of a sex kitten than what I really am at home with my kids.

“As artists I think people who are really shy – I’m really shy in person – so when I get on stage, it’s really good for me to become this different character because it’s like therapy for me.”

She went on: “I think there is a pressure for girls to have the right nose, the right body and you are your environment so it becomes contagious when you get in that environment.

“You actually become that yourself, so it’s important to keep cool people around you to keep you grounded.”

Britney’s new album Britney Jean is scheduled for release on December 2 in the UK, and a day later in the US.
