It’s been 14 years since his last release as a solo artist, but Gary Barlow is cashing in on his X Factor pulling power by releasing a new album.
The Take That frontman has confirmed on Twitter that his new collection is out on November – and, in an interesting move, it will go head-to-head with the new collection from One Direction.
He said:
“After 14 long years I’m proud to announce my new solo album out on November 25th! I’m excited for u to hear it! More info to follow #gbsolo”.
His last album failed to make much of a commercial impact. Twelve Months, Eleven Days was released in 1999 and only spent one week in the Top 40 when it peaked at No35. Since then he’s released a short LP entitled Sing, which topped the charts as part of the celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Gary’s career made a complete U-turn when he and his Take That bandmates decided to reform back in 2006. Their hit ‘Patience’ soared straight to the No1 spot, and they’ve been on top of their game ever since.
It is thought that the man-band will release another new album in 2014; prompting his decision to leave The X Factor at the end of its current season.
