Heavily pregnant Katie Price was allegedly rushed to hospital last week after suffering scary complications. The businesswoman was on holiday with family members when she is reported to have fallen ill. The Sun reports that she then called her gynaecologist in London, who told her to visit the nearest hospital as soon as possible.
The paper adds that, when she was seen by an English-speaking doctor, she was told that the amniotic sac had torn and was at risk of being infected. She is not due to give birth for another ten weeks. Nurses are now monitoring the baby’s heartbeat regularly, and giving the former model booster injections to help the unborn tot’s lungs develop. She is said to be on three drips containing antibiotics, water and a special fluid to delay labour.
She is said to be terrified by news that she could give birth within a week. She has remained abroad as doctors fear infection may take hold if she flies, and a Cesarean can’t be performed mid-air.
She had previously already admitted that this pregnancy has been “difficult”.
