Good news, The Wanted fans! The boyband have finally announced details of their third album, after a two-year wait.
The boys’ previous LP Battleground was unveiled in 2011, and the follow-up has suffered a string of delays as the boys worked to improve its general sound.
However, today they have officially confirmed that the new record is called Word Of Mouth, and it’s out on September 16. It’s going to be their first worldwide release, following their recent success in the USA with their reality show and hit single ‘Glad You Came’.
The album’s fourth single, ‘We Own The Night’, will make its debut on the radio on August 5, before being rapidly released to iTunes one week later on August 11. The previous three singles – ‘Chasing The Sun’, ‘I Found You’ and ‘Walks Like Rihanna’ – have all peaked inside the UK Top 5.
“We’re massively excited about our new single ‘We Own The Night’,” said Nathan Sykes in a statement. “It takes us right back to the sound which everyone knows us for, and sets the mood for the album.”
And of the album, Tom Parker said excitedly: “It’s taken us two years to make this album, and now that it’s finally finished we are all really proud of the time and effort – not just that we put into it, but all the writers and the label too. We think it’s our strongest album to date. We can’t wait for our fans to hear it. They’ve been really patient, but hopefully they’ll think it’s worth the wait!”
For the album, the date for your diaries is September 16. Start counting down the days!
