Davina McCall has been unveiled as the presenter on ITV’s new dance show, which will allegedly rival the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. Stepping Out will see six celebrities teaming up with their real-life partners to try and perfect a different genre of dance each week.
McCall has previously hosted reality and game shows Got To Dance, Big Brother and Million Pound Drop, and will front the series when it launches later this year.
She said:
“I’m beyond excited to be hosting Stepping Out, I love dancing and I’m a nosey parker. I can’t wait to see how the couples are going to cope trying to learn the cha cha or pirouette whilst doing the school run or cleaning.”
ITV’s Entertainment Commissioning Editor Kate Maddigan said:
“We’re really pleased to have Davina on board as host joining our lively mixture of couples. Davina’s enthusiasm and energy will be a great asset for Stepping Out and perfect for bringing out the best in our celebrities and their real life partners.”
Participating in the series will be JLS star Oritse Williams and AJ Azari, former Westlife singer Brian McFadden and his wife Vogue Williams, Loose Women’s Denise Welch and husband Lincoln Townley, former EastEnder Glynis Barber and husband Michael Brandon and boxer Carl Froch with girlfriend Rachael Cordingly.
Interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and his wife Jackie complete the line-up.
