The Great British Bake-Off’s notorious judge Paul Hollywood has denied widespread viewer speculation that he fancies contestant Ruby Tandoh.
Ruby was seen in tonight’s instalment of the hit show being given a place in the Final 3, despite coming under fire for one of her cakes – only fuelling complaints that Paul seems to have a crush on her.
However, the silver-haired baker has insisted that he actually feels that Ruby’s competitor Kimberley is prettier.
Speaking to Radio Times, he said:
“Personally I think Kimberley’s far prettier. With all the love in the world, Ruby’s not my type. But she’s a great baker, one of the most talented bakers who has walked in that tent. My job is to judge what goes on the plate. Always has been, always will be.”
He added:
“I don’t judge the person – Mary [Berry] will back me up on this – because it’s not one judge doing this. It’s two. And we both say the same thing.”
The BBC Two show has grown in popularity so much that, as of next year, it will air on BBC One.
Love Productions CEO Anna Beattie said:
“We’re extremely proud that the show has captivated so many families and inspired so many people across the country and we aim to do everything we can to ensure its continuing authenticity and integrity.
