Justin Bieber appeared to suggest he may retire from music during a recent radio interview.
The hitmaker was chatting on Power 106 in Los Angeles when he said with a completely straight face that he might throw in the towel and quit his pop career altogether.
“I’m actually retiring,” he said when asked about his future plans.
However, he did – later in the Q&A – also speak about his next album, seemingly contradicting the notion that he might quit altogether.
“I want my music to mature,” he said, suggesting he may “step out” of the limelight for a while.
“People think I’m arrogant, I’m not, I’ve always been a caring and giving person,” he insisted. “I’m here solely for my fans and for the music.”
The star’s #MusicMondays series is currently ongoing, and is due to climax with the release of his Journals album on December 23.
