Actress Paula Patton has announced the end of her five-year marriage to singer Robin Thicke. The couple, who have been husband and wife for nine years, have one child together – Julian – who was born in 2010.
In a statement, Patton told People:
“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”
Thicke has been subject to endless controversy over the last year, after his global smash ‘Blurred Lines’ was slammed for what many deemed to be misogynistic content. Its explicit music video also drew complaints.
The furore around him was furthered at August’s MTV Video Music Awards when he engaged in a provocative performance with Miley Cyrus.
That said, the song became the best-seller of the year in the UK.
Patton, meanwhile, has recently starred in the hit comedy movie Baggage Claim.
