Adam Driver, famous for playing Lena Dunham’s on-screen boyfriend in the hit HBO series Girls, is allegedly set to appear in Star Wars.
The actor, who was previously linked to a part in the sci-fi reboot last month, is now thought to be in final negotiations, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Details on the part are sketchy, but Variety believe he is in line to play the main villain – akin to Darth Vader from the franchise’s previous installments.
It is also believed that the part he is circling was previously auditioned-for by Michael Fassbender.
No cast members have been officially confirmed by bosses, but with filming set to kick off in April, announcements are presumed to be coming in the very near future.
Gary Oldman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Harrison Ford, Mark Hammil and Carrie Fisher have all been linked to roles over recent months; with the latter three believed to be reprising their roles from the originals.
