The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield refused to talk about widely-rumoured girlfriend Emma Stone while promoting the new movie last night.
The actor is believed to have been dating the teen queen since they met on the set of the franchise’s first movie, but when a reporter on the red carpet referenced her as his “girlfriend”, he refused to take the bait.
He was asked what animal’s special abilities they’d want, and when Garfield said he’d want an eagle – thus lining up with Stone earlier saying she’d be a bird – the journalist said “Your girlfriend gave the same answer!”
He responded calmly but firmly:
“Who’s my girlfriend? You’re making an assumption about my personal life, and my personal life is not public property.”
The pair have been sharing the spotlight over recent months as they promote the film but have never confirmed that they are an item.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is out now in the UK.
