British actor Benedict Cumberbatch has signed up to star in new thriller Blood Mountain, it has been confirmed. The Sherlock star joins director Sergei Bodrov in the new movie, which is being produced by Lawrence Bender.
The story of the film centres around a private military contractor whose special forces team gets ambushed and killed in the middle of a secret mission.

He then has to personally take one of the world’s most notorious terrorists over enemy territory in order to bring him to justice. The screenplay was penned by Jonathan W Stokes, with John Romano providing the revisions. Cumberbatch’s specific role has not yet been announced.
