Acclaimed actress Cate Blanchett has responded to the Oscars buzz that has flooded in for her since her latest movie Blue Jasmine was released. The film, directed by Woody Allen, has seen a flurry of praise come in for the star, and she is now considered a leading contender for Hollywood’s top awards bash next February.
However, speaking to the New York Post, she said that she refuses to think about that side of things just yet
“It’s lovely… but it’s an act of hubris to even think about that stuff,” she told the New York Post.
She added:
“It’s only just October.”
Blue Jasmine is out now in the UK and the US. Blanchett had previously joked that she had given up on trying to get a part in a Woody Allen movie before this role came along.
