Chris Brown is to be kept behind bars while his bodyguard appeals his guilty verdict. Both men are on trial for an assault in Washington last October, when they were accused of attacking a man outside the W Hotel last October.
Brown’s bodyguard Christopher Hollosy was found guilty on Monday (April 22), and Brown will not himself be tried until Hollosy’s case is resolved.
The ‘Loyal’ singer will now not take to the stand until June, despite being scheduled for this week.
According to Gossip Cop, his lawyer asked if he could be released on bail until the court date, but the request was denied.
Brown is on probation for assaulting Rihanna back in 2009, and could face up to four years in jail if convicted of this latest charge. He has been incarcerated since March when he was ejected from a court-ordered rehab programme.
