Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he considered dropping out of the Harry Potter franchise after just three movies.
The British star played the titular role throughout the series’ time, taking the lead for all eight movies – despite considering throwing in the towel at the age of 14.
Speaking to The Guardian, he confirmed that he is glad he decided to stay to the end.
“By the third film, I thought, if there’s a time to get out, it’s now; there’s still enough time for another actor to come in and establish himself,” he explained.
“For a while I thought, if I do all of them, will I be able to move on to other stuff or should I start doing other stuff now?”
However, in relation to his age at the time, he re-affirmed: ”
And actually there aren’t many great parts out there for teenage boys, certainly not as good as Harry Potter.”
Radcliffe is currently promoting his new film Kill Your Darlings.
