David Tennant was a smash hit when he starred as DI Alec Hardy in ITV’s Broadchurch earlier this year – and now he’ll apparently appear in the US equivalent. The show is being remade by US network Fox, and Tennant has allegedly signed up for a lead role, according to TV Line.
As with the UK show, the series will focus on an investigation into the death of a young boy – however his character will be American.
The US version will be filmed in early 2014, with transmission due for early 2015. Creator and writer Chris Chubnall has said that the remake could even be “better” than the first version.
However, it is not known if Tennant’s role across the pond will affect whether or not he appears in the second series of the UK edition.
Do you think he’s made a good decision?
