Presenter and actress Denise Van Outen has confirmed that she and husband Lee Mead are ending their marriage. The couple tied the knot four years ago, and have been subject to months of speculation in the press that they were on the verge of calling time on their relationship due to conflicting schedules.
“Following continued speculation, Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead are sad to confirm they have decided to separate,” her spokesperson confirmed yesterday. “The couple remain the best of friends, with their daughter Betsy as their number one priority. The family ask for privacy at this time.”
The couple met on the set of BBC talent show Any Dream Will Do back in 2007. Mead was the winning contestant, and Van Outen was on the judging panel. Denise had confessed a few months ago: “To be honest with you, it is really difficult. We just haven’t seen each other.
“I started on Strictly in September and we have literally been like ships passing in the night. “I’m not going to lie, it is a massive strain on the relationship.”
