Diana Vickers has revealed that Niall Horan gave her his personal thumbs-up when she contributed a song for One Direction’s fragrance advert.
Horan, who is a member of the popular boyband, apparently told her that he was a big fan of the version of ‘My Favourite Things’ that she recorded.
Explaining how she got the job, she told AMAZEPOP:
“Well 1D are with my management, and I know the boys. My management rang me, like, ‘hey the boys have got this advert and they’re looking for a female voice on it, and we mentioned you in the meeting, and the boys were really into the idea’. I think they got a few other people to do it as well.
“And then the boys heard my version and they really loved it! It was a really lovely thing to be a part of. I was speaking to Niall about it, and he was like ‘Yes, we thought of you!’. It was really, really cool.”
She also said that her Twitter feed goes crazy whenever a member of the band tweets her.
“Oh my God, it’s mental. Bless them, they’re really supportive,” she said. “Harry and Niall have tweeted about my single before and stuff, and it’s mad. You get like 40,000 [mentions].
“The other day Harry tweeted my boyfriend and I was next to him watching TV, and literally every second his Twitter was like BING, BING, BING… It was going absolutely mental! It’s crazy.”
