Jennifer Hudson has revealed that American Idol bosses laughed at her when she told them she was going to be a star. The singer and actress was eliminated from the show at a relatively early stage in the competition back in 2004, but went on to score huge success.

She has released records, starred in TV shows and even bagged an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls – but producers at the Fox singing competition doubted her from the moment she was voted off.
Speaking on Watch What Happens Live yesterday, she said:
“When I was eliminated from the show, I told them… ‘I will be back. I don’t know when. I don’t know how. I don’t know where. But I will be back.'”
She added:
“I recall the producers laughing. And here I am!”
