Laura Whitmore has commented on Fun Lovin’ Criminals rocker Huey Morgan’s apparent tantrum on BBC panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks earlier this week.
The musician was seen smashing a mug and storming off the set at the end of the episode, after previously getting into a heated discussion with the show’s guest hosts, rap duo Rizzle Kicks.
Whitmore was on Morgan’s team alongside Phil Jupitus, and got showered with debris from the broken mug.
“After that eventful recording I’m glad to say the mug survived and is seeing a councillor for post-trauma,” she told Digital Spy, jokily labelling the incident “mug-gate”.
Noel Fielding, who was on the opposing team, has also mentioned the furore on his Twitter page. After a source told a newspaper that the audience were mostly on Morgan’s side, Fielding insisted that the opposite was true. “…the audience where (sic) in no way behind Huey ! They were supporting the Rizzles completely,” he wrote.
“It was all a storm in a tea cup…I’m sure Huey didn’t mean it ! Just got over excited.”
