Lena Dunham has finally given her views on the controversy surrounding the allegedly retouched photos of her that appeared in Vogue.
US site Jezebel sent out a call for the original pictures in exchange for a cash reward, and was successful – and Dunham has now slammed them for their actions.
Speaking with Bill Simmons for his podcast, she said:
“That was messed up.”
The Girls actress elaborated:
“I think Jezebel can be really smart and funny, I think it’s just that once you’ve been attacked in that way, it’s hard to enjoy. Once you feel they’ve made such a monumental error in their approach to feminism.
“It felt gross.”
Girls, Dunham’s show, is currently airing its third season in both the US and the UK.
