Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have announced their separation via a publicist. Rumours emerged earlier today that the couple have decided to take a break from their relationship following a spell of hardships, and the stories have now been confirmed by a rep.
Speaking to the BBC, the spokesperson said that they are
“taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage”.
The pair have been together for an incredible 14 years, and the news comes after reports emerged from the US suggesting that they have parted ways for good. They previously denied that they were entering a trial separation earlier this year.
They are thought to be keen to repair their romance, for the sake of their children – 13-year-old Dylan and 10-year-old Carys. They have not been snapped together since April. In the interim, Douglas has holidayed alone to Sardinia.
