Reese Witherspoon apparently rejected the chance to make a trilogy of Legally Blonde. The popular teen movie became a smash hit when it was released in the early naughties, and then spawned a successful sequel, Legally Blonde: Red, White & Blonde.
However, Jennifer Coolidge – who played Paulette in both instalments – has now said that the Oscar winner passed on the opportunity to make a third.
Asked why another movie was not made, she told the New York Daily News: “That was Reese’s choice.”
She added:
“She’s such a good actress. It was weird, she carried Legally Blonde.
“She had a baby at home or two babies at home and she was doing Legally Blonde during the day. It was bizarre how much that girl can handle. I was blown away by her.”
Reese has already appeared in Mud this year and will soon also be caught in Wild, an adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s book.
