Legendary writer, actor and director Harold Ramis has passed away after recurring health issues. He was 69.
The star, whose most famous work includes Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day, has sparked a huge outpouring of love from Hollywood stars on Twitter today after his death was made public.
Billy Crystal said:
“Sad to hear my friend Harold Ramis passed away. A brilliant, funny, actor and director. A wonderful husband and dad. Big loss to us all.”
Family Guy mogul Seth MacFarlane, meanwhile, posted: “Harold Ramis was a brilliant, shining example for every comedy writer hoping to achieve excellence the field. He will be sorely missed.”
“Filling out the paperwork to rename my kid Harold,” said Jason Biggs in an affectionate joke.
Rashida Jones wrote:
“So sad about Harold Ramis. Comedy legend. And a lovely man. #GriswaldsForever #Ghostbusters #GroundhogDay”.
And Zach Braff tweeted:
“If you’re my age and got into comedy, Harold Ramis was one of the reasons. Life is fast and over too soon.”
