The Wanted star Nathan Sykes has admitted that he struggled with the concept of being the subject of reality series The Wanted Life, and had a “complete mental breakdown”.
The singer has had a turbulent year, having also been forced to take a hiatus from the pop act while he recovered from brutal throat surgery.
“Let’s put it this way; I locked myself in my room for three days so I wasn’t filmed,” he said whilst speaking on InDemand with Alex James.
After James then joked about it being a breakdown, Nathan said:
“Oh no, it was completely a mental breakdown.
“It was completely a full-blown mental breakdown. I blamed it on the voice though, so it’s fine.”

Siva Kaneswaran added: “The voice was sore and there was a lot of emotions going through Nathan at the time – and rightly so! But all good now.”
The group will release their new album Word Of Mouth on November 4.
