The X Factor USA’s embarrassing downturn in ratings was slightly reversed last night, as over 1 million more viewers tuned in compared to last week’s broadcast.
Last week the first live show of the season pulled in 4.54 million, while the subsequent results show had a disastrous 3.64 million. This week, however, they recovered slightly to 5.77 million, achieving a demo rating of 1.7, up 13 percent week-on-week.
In order to combat the downturn, Simon Cowell rearranged the seating arrangements behind the judges’ desk – recreating the brother-sister-like rapport he had with Demi Lovato last season.
Still, it is widely assumed that the show will not be renewed for a fourth season by Fox; thus paving the way for head judge Simon Cowell to replace Gary Barlow on the original UK version.
All four judges are rumoured to be heading out of the ITV show after the current season, including Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Take That star Gary Barlow.
