Demi Lovato has said that she may discuss her battle with drug and alcohol addiction in her upcoming memoir.
The 21-year-old star, who is currently judging on The X Factor USA, ended up in rehab in 2010 amid a flurry of personal struggles, including self-harming, undiagnosed bipolar, an eating disorder and addiction problems.
She has spoken openly about most of her troubles since entering recovery, but as far as the drug and alcohol issues are concerned, she has stayed relatively silent.
However, speaking now, she has said that she is considering spilling the beans – in case it may help someone else.
She told Entertainment Weekly:
“I’m battling with internal thoughts on how honest I should be. Yes, I’ve been very honest, but if people really knew how dark and deep my struggles got – not just with my eating disorder but with drugs and alcohol – they’d be really shocked.
“But I’ll most likely end up saying everything. Maybe it’ll help other people in the industry who are headed down the wrong path.”
Demi is also off on tour in 2014 along with Cher Lloyd and Fifth Harmony.
