Lady Gaga rush-releases new single ‘Applause’

Lady Gaga was forced to rush-release her new single ‘Applause’ yesterday when unofficial leaks began emerging online. The star wrote on her Twitter page that she was facing a “POP EMERGENCY” and was forced to debut the song one week ahead of schedule.

She wrote:

“A POP MUSIC EMERGENCY IS UNDERWAY 911.”

Attaching a new promotional shot, she continued:

“911 SUMMON THE MONSTER TROUPES. HERE IS A PHOTO TO ACCOMPANY THIS EMERGENCY”.

“DUE TO HACKERS AN ABUNDANCE OF LOW/HIGH QUALITY LEAKS…WE ISSUE THIS POP MUSIC EMERGENCY…MONSTERS SPREAD THE WORD. MY NEW SINGLE ‘APPLAUSE’ IS OUT TODAY AND CAN BE HEARD ON UNITED STATES RADIO IN 15 MINUTES. INTERNATIONAL RADIO TO FOLLOW.

 

She added:

“POP MUSIC EMERGENCY #0DAYSTillAPPLAUSE MY NEW SINGLE COMES OUT TODAY. 911 SPREAD THIS MESSAGE.”

A UK release is expected to follow shortly.
