The head of ITV has gone on record to say that he thinks Simon Cowell’s big talent shows could be around for many more years to come. The Director of Television said at today’s Edinburgh Television Festival that he doesn’t foresee either show coming to an end in the foreseeable future.
“Huge brands like The X Factor and BGT are absolutely central to our schedule,” he admitted. “I think they’re going to be around for a long time to come.”
The X Factor returns for its tenth season at the end of this month, with judges Nicole Scherzinger, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh joined by comeback queen Sharon Osbourne.

It has already been reported that Osbourne, Walsh and Barlow will all be leaving at the end of the current run.
