US TV hit Game Of Thrones has unsurprisingly been green-lit for two more seasons, following its monstrous jump in popularity.
The show’s fourth season premiere aired in the US on HBO over the weekend and achieved 6.6 million viewers – the most-watched telecast on the station since the series finale of The Sopranos way back in 2007.
Critical reviews have also been sky-high and fans’ obsession has reached new heights.
In a statement, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said: “Game of Thrones is a phenomenon like no other.
“[Producers] David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, along with their talented collaborators, continue to surpass themselves, and we look forward to more of their dazzling storytelling.”
The show also has an almighty following in the UK, thanks to its broadcasts on Sky Atlantic.
